Ahoy, Patrons! 👋
Guess where we’ve landed? Sunny (we hoped!) Cagliari, in the beautiful south of Sardinia! Our trusty Alabriga was waiting patiently, and we were so excited to kick off the sailing season with some much-needed warmth and maybe even a cheeky early tan! 😉
We’ve had glorious memories of sunbathing on the stunning beaches between Cagliari and Villasimius this time of year – some even offering that liberating all-over sunshine experience! We were definitely dreaming of those first glorious, head-to-toe rays. ☀️
But… Mother Nature had other plans! 🥶 Instead of balmy breezes, we’ve been greeted by a rather persistent and chilly wind that has us reaching for extra layers. We even had to fire up the boat’s heater – a far cry from the sun-kissed start we envisioned!
The sun is shining brightly, teasing us with its warmth, but the air remains crisp. So much so that we’ve even been battling a bit of a springtime sniffle and sore throat – not the adventurous start we had in mind! 🤧
Despite the unexpected cold snap, we couldn’t resist venturing out to the Parco Naturale Molentargius. And oh, what a treat! Life is bursting back into full swing there, embracing the imminent arrival of spring. The highlight? The first flamingos have arrived! Seeing these magnificent birds take flight against the backdrop of the park is truly breathtaking. It’s a vibrant reminder that even if our personal weather hasn’t cooperated, nature’s cycle continues its beautiful rhythm. 🌸
Unfortunately, this persistent cold wind is really putting a damper on our initial sailing plans. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a change in the forecast soon so we can finally set sail and share some proper Mediterranean adventures with you all!
Thanks for being part of our journey, even the slightly sniffly bits! Your support means the world. ❤️
Stay tuned for hopefully warmer updates soon!
