This Christmas season, we embarked on a short yet unforgettable trip to Lisbon—a city that stole our hearts from the moment we arrived.
On our first day, we wandered through the enchanting neighborhood of Belém, where history seems to come alive. We marveled at the iconic Belém Tower, a sentinel of the Age of Discovery, and stood in awe before the Monument to the Discoveries, imagining the daring explorers who once set sail from this very spot. The Jerónimos Monastery, with its intricate Manueline architecture, left us speechless—a true testament to Portugal’s rich maritime heritage.
As evening fell, we returned to the cozy little home we had found online. Though modest in size, it was beautifully decorated, with thoughtful details and a large, ornate mirror that seemed to invite stories of its own. Perhaps it was the magic of Lisbon, or simply the holiday spirit, but we couldn’t resist the whimsical idea of seeing ourselves reflected as if we were the protagonists of a film.
