We knew this wouldn’t be an easy passage. Leaving Les Saintes for Dominica, we braced for strong winds and rough seas. The channel between the islands is wide open to the Atlantic, meaning no shelter from the elements. To make things more interesting, the trade winds have shifted southeast—so it’s all upwind sailing.

The catamaran handles it well, cutting through the waves, but the wind keeps building. At one point, the instruments show gusts hitting 40 knots. It’s a wild and exhausting ride.

Reaching Dominica feels like a real relief. Solid ground, calm waters, and a well-earned rest.🌴⚓
